Tuning[edit]
Calculation of reed lengths for all notes and sample tunings:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1p7phQyMFZytRIEZhfqqGehixpvytb22RZZskTHl8Guw/edit?usp=sharing
Basic procedure[edit]
- Lengthening the reeds lowers the tone, shortening them raises it.
- Lengthen and shorten by wiggling and pulling the corresponding end with pliers.
Sequence[edit]
- Estimate the material parameters of the reeds.
- Loosen the clamping slightly.
- Adjust the length of a reed to the desired pitch.
- Check via tuner or app.
- Adjust the material parameters if the calculated length matches the measured pitch.
- Rough tuning by adjusting the calculated lengths.
- Fine tune using a tuner or app.
- Tighten the clamp.
